From braille next to the ports to their accessories compatible across different machines, Microsoft is investing in making gaming more accessible, and is certainly doing so more determinedly than Sony's latest consoles.

Accessibility is an issue that ought to be an outright embarrassment for the major console players, alienating scores of fans by not providing the tools they need to engage. Microsoft, however, is looking to address these issues and that can only count as a win for them and gamers all round.

The standout example must be Microsoft's Adaptive Controller. The controller can be used both with PC and Xbox devices and it will be difficult to gauge just how many people for whom this controller opens up a whole new of engagement, but rest assured it is a large new audience.

Sony is someway behind Microsoft on this front and the issue is liable to increase in urgency as time goes by. If Sony ignores so many potential gamers, Microsoft will be more than happy to continue working on making it easier and more enjoyable for them to engage with their consoles and experiences.
