10 Recent Video Game Levels That Made You Rage Quit
1. Resident Evil 3 - The Hospital
Upon release, this much hyped sequel was slammed for being too short. This was mainly due to its narrative structure, but also due to how easily players could navigate through the game.
The one exception to this is in the hospital. In this level, players are tasked with fending off hordes of undead whilst Tyrell works to close the shutters.
The game tends to be reasonably generous with its use of checkpoints, even if you haven't saved for a while. Die at any point here, however, and you will have to start the ordeal again.
A key mechanic in the game is knowing when to fight and when to flee. Here you have no choice but to fight, and although items are fairly numerous in this area, they are usually guarded by hordes of zombies, leaving players in a loop of desperately dodging, before finding enough room to squeeze off a few shots.
For a game that whisks you from one section to the next, this standstill is jarring, and although not the hardest level in the world, is still enough to make you reconsider another playthrough of Resident Evil 2 instead.
