10 Released Wrestlers Who Will Still Be In WWE 2K22

Ooft! Yes, some AEW stars are included on this list.

Ruby Soho, once known as Riott in WWE circles, is the first of three who might still grab a royalty payment from 2K for 2K22. Sure, some will be sitting there thinking, '...but she was released last June. Surely that's enough time to delete any character assets?'. It is, and yet that doesn't mean 2K will.

Forbes recently revealed that 2K22's roster is set to be bigger than ever. In order to achieve that, the site claims, 2K will look to squeeze as many characters as possible onto the disc. Amazingly, they're also in talks with WWE about using wrestlers who work in other promotions.

In other words, the fact that Soho is currently plying her trade in Tony Khan's All Elite Wrestling won't necessarily count against her. This all depends on the image rights deals individual workers signed with 2K, obviously, but it's incredible to think that some AEW stars could show up in a 2022 WWE game.
