10 Retro FPS Games We Need On Consoles

7. Clive Barker's Undying

Timesplitters game
Danger Close Games

Arguably the least well known game on this list, Undying is by far the most immersive and atmospheric. Penned by Clive Barker of Hellraiser fame, it's naturally full of gory horror. Players find themselves in a post World War 1 universe and coping with H.P Lovecraft inspired monstrosities.

It's all set in a creepy mansion, of course, and would fit in nicely with the recent slew of first person survival horror titles like the upcoming Resident Evil Village. The plot has you unravelling the mystery behind a cursed family and takes players on a journey into the past, as well as dark and distorted, other worldly, realms.

There's plenty of magic and action to master courtesy of a unique spell system, as well as the usual fire arms. A few quality of life changes added, like a map, would ensure this title is just as playable as anything contemporary.

It bears a slight resemblance to Shadow of Darkness: Sanity's Requiem too, with certain spells distorting what you can see and altering reality, so it could help scratch that itch as well.
