10 Retro FPS Games We Need On Consoles

8. Unreal Tournament

Timesplitters game
Epic Games

This is the other ground breaking FPS shooter with big, BIG, guns from the '90s (the other being Quake). It's also the origin of the legendary Unreal Engine that we all still enjoy today, so it'd be great to look back at how it all began.

The first entry was a groundbreaking single player experience, and its follow up an epic multiplayer. So, if you merged those two today, along with the expansions and upgrades, you might have yourself a top tier bundle.

There were sequels leading right up to Unreal Tournament 3, making it seem weird that it's been largely overlooked, especially given the prominence of the engine in other games. Despite its age, it's still a good looking, smooth playing game, and should fit in nicely with the Battle Royale, Apex Legend gaming crowd.

They tried to cram it on the PS2 and Dreamcast, but naturally it wasn't the best fit (a familiar story) and it fell by the wayside. But now we have the technology: bigger, stronger, faster; just imagine having tournaments on your Switch!
