10 Ridiculous DLC Extras Video Games Expected You To Pay For

8. Mortal Kombat 11 - Adding More Characters Behind An Epilogue Paywall

Creating new story content and then expecting us to pay for it isn't an inherently evil practice. You didn't have to see Duke Nukem go on holiday, for example.

But say you don't want to fork out for Mortal Kombat 11's Aftermath. Perhaps you're happy with how the story played out, but you'd like to play as Robocop or Fujin though.

Well, tough.

You cannot buy these characters separately, as they only come with the Aftermath bundle. Which is doubly insulting if, like me, you already have the Kombat Pack that grants you Spawn, Joker and the rest.

Want to play out some epic Robocop vs. Terminator battles? Then expect to pay for the entire DLC just for that one extra character.

It's not that Aftermath is terrible or anything, far from it. But that's not the point.

Hiding some enticing new characters behind a massive paywall of a DLC isn't fair, nor does it make you feel like the story you've finished is complete.

Whilst you can buy it now as a complete (or Komplete) edition, it's insulting to those who plumped £70 for the release version.
