10 Ridiculous DLC Extras Video Games Expected You To Pay For

9. Resident Evil 5 - VERSUS MODE

Breath of the Wild
Capcom

If you came in to this list expecting at least one entry from Capcom, I've got you covered. Whilst they've improved a bit other the years (Monster Hunter World gestures notwithstanding), there was a time when they were downright villainous.

Case in point: Resident Evil 5's Versus Mode.

Multiplayer wasn't a common theme in Capcom's series, so the idea of playing against a friend seemed like a great idea at the time... until you had to pay for it.

It wouldn't have been so bad a blow if say, they'd announced it post-launch as an extra mode down the line. But no, in typical Capcom form, they dropped this bombshell shortly before the game was out.

You'd think they could have bundled it with one of the story DLC's instead, but nope. The means to play against a friend would cost you more money on top of the game you've already bought..

Or, if you waited for both campaigns and Versus to be available as an upgrade... you're sh*t out of luck. You had to buy the whole game again as the Gold Edition.
