10 Ridiculous DLC Extras Video Games Expected You To Pay For

4. Asura's Wrath - The True Ending

Asura's Wrath
Capcom

Just when you think Capcom couldn't stoop any lower than charging for multiplayer, or characters on a disc you'd already purchased, they pull one more crafty move out of their sleeve.

That's right, it's the oft told tale of Asura's Wrath and The Case of The Additional Paid For Ending.

Not "Here's an alternate ending that you can optionally pay for if you want to see events play out differently". Nope, the 'real' ending is, in essence, behind a paywall.

That's right, you have to pay to see the proper ending of the game that you've already paid to pay through to [mostly] completion.

Even more absurdly, this additional ending was set up as intended bait for a sequel to Asura's Wrath. So in essence, you're paying extra for a cliffhanger ending for a game that will never happen.

Thankfully, Capcom sorted themselves out for Resident Evil 2's 2019 remake and DMC 5, but eight years ago, they were the absolute worst.
