It is no secret that Justin Bieber is an outspoken fan of basketball; Bieber has been regularly sighted courtside at the Staples Centre to watch the LA Lakers as well as in the Philips Arena to see the Hawks in Atlanta (his new city of residency). Does simply being a fan of a sport mean that you should be a playable character though? Clearly Visual Concepts, the developer of the NBA 2K series, thinks yes. In the game Bieber comprises part of the Celebrity Super-Team playing alongside the likes of Chamillionare and cast members from Jersey Shore. Though the Biebs is the only one of this number who could likely afford courtside seats, this doesnt mean he should have been a playable character. One can hardly imagine the puny, 57 20-year-old competing against athletic powerhouses like Blake Griffin, Serge Ibaka and Tyson Chandler. To make things slightly fairer, the pop star turned wannabe thug was stretched out to a height of 64 and given a reasonable set of basketballing stats, far beyond what we predict his skills to be in real life. Perhaps rather than putting Justin on human growth hormone it would have better to keep him as a spectator. Clearly were expecting too much of a game whose executive producer was Jay-Z.
