10 RPGs With Ridiculously Weird Stories

8. Breath Of Fire III

Developer: Capcom Platform: PlayStation The premise: The player controls Ryu, the last of his kind who can transform into magical dragons. Starting in the game as a child, Ryu and his friends reach adulthood and go on an adventure that eventually leads of a grand conspiracy that's been holding back humanity for centuries... It gets weirder: Okay, so that premise isn't particularly weird. It's actually one of Breath of Fire III's main characters that's led it to earning a place on this list. At one point, Ryu and party find themselves at an advanced farm, where they're warned that a plant has actually ran away. You soon come across this vegetable escapee, who can only be described as a walking mutant cabbage. He can't speak, starts at level 1 (making him a pain to get up to the strength of your party,) and has the lowest intelligence stat in the game. He also ends up being one of the most important characters in the game, and pivotal to the ending.
