10 Rumoured Video Games That Could Release In 2023

7. Mortal Kombat 12

Mortal Kombat 12's existence is pretty public knowledge because of the absolutely benign way that Warner Bros decided to let it become so. As a publicly-traded company their investors calls are open to all to listen to, and in February this year CEO David Zaslav just offhandedly mentioned their intention to release MK12 in 2023.

As such, the game's existence or planned release aren't a rumour. Thankfully, it didn't kill off hype for a new entry entirely.

The Mortal Kombat social media accounts have done a decent job in recent weeks as they are clearly leading up to something. Recent posts have seen them posting about previous entries in the series as a celebration of it's 30th anniversary year. As such, rumours that the game could get a reveal very soon are probably onto something.

Prominent fighting game community member SonicFox even predicted as such, with Jeff Grubb chiming in with a joke alerting many fans that such a thing could be imminent.

Additionally, the original MK launched in September '93 - so it's a realistic expectation so that a new game, or whatever else NetherRealm have in store, are arriving about then. There is still hope that the studio has more than a double-pack of MK11 and the most recent film to celebrate the series.
