10 Rumoured Video Games That Could Release In 2023
6. Odyssey
The lamest way for a company to announce or even accidentally let a project slip is via business conversations. As such, Blizzard at least did the smart thing in 2022 by announcing they were working on a new title at the same time as asking for potential employees to work on it. This way, at least people weren't making assumptions based on LinkedIn posts.
At that point, it appeared to be in early concepting phases and didn't even have a name. This "unannounced survival game" looked nice based on the artwork, almost implying a title that sees characters move from the real world into a realm of classic fantasy.
Recently, Jez from the Xbox Two podcast dropped the bombshell that he had seen the game and said that he was "90% sure" the game was called Odyssey. He also remarked that it was "so close to being completed in a multi-platform context" that he expected it to release for all formats, despite the Xbox and Blizzard merger.
He continued to describe Odyssey as using "stylised, fairy-tale art" and that it was coming much sooner than most expected.
BlizzCon 2023 takes place in November this year which could be a place for the final lead up for hype providing the game has indeed been revealed by then, releasing in time for that key holiday season.
