5. Hunters

Hunters are among Umbrella's most cost effective monsters. They are genetically engineered BOWs using the T Virus and adding amphibian DNA to human DNA. They are reliable killers and they are cheap to produce. They look like frogs on some serious steroids but they are bipedal. Hunters have terrific claws which can put an end to your character's life pretty quickly. They do a whole jumping in the air thing and land on you over quite a distance. The best way to get rid of these suckers is to shoot them mid air with a magnum. There has always been a hunter type monster in most of the Resident Evil games. But froggy man's best appearances have been in the first RE where there is an underground maze type area you have to explore and the whole place is packed with Hunters. The hunter was also used to effect in RE3 - being particularly scary in suspended animation tanks - just watch that glass break and your heart drop. Hunters are versatile and they are an effective RE monster. I don't think anyone playing the games will relish the thought of a horde of them coming their way. They can be very tricky to kill and require advanced weaponry in order to dispose of them effectively (and without getting your behind kicked). A good, solid, dependable monster.
