10 Scummiest Moves Made By Video Game Publishers
8. Bethesda And All Of Fallout 76
Fallout has
to be one of Bethesda's biggest franchises. Reimagining this top down RPG into
a massive open-world shooter was a great decision that helped bring the company
to where it is today. Now with this being one of their flagship franchises
you'd think they'd care about the quality and reputation of it. Fallout 76
proves this isn't the case.
The game's launch did not go well. With crashes on the servers, glitches all over, and a day one patch bigger than the game itself. It's no surprise some fans wanted refunds on this broken product. Well, Bethesda stopped giving refunds on steam for a while during the game's week of release because so many fans were unhappy with the product they had bought.
Next was lying about the special edition of the game. With the Power Armor Edition of the game, you got a bag that wasn’t the right material as stated on the box. Along with a helmet made with cheap glue that could give you a lung infection. All in an attempt to reduce costs.
If you wanted the bag replacing you could submit a ticket on the Bethesda site to get a replacement bag. But if you did a glitch on the site took you to a page where you could see hundreds of people’s details.
Guess Bethesda’s real-life stuff has bugs too.
