10 Secret Video Game Rewards You Had No Idea Existed
5. Leo's Grave - The Witcher 3
The Witcher 3’s quests range from simple to so complex, you’ll be changing the course of a man’s entire life (several, in fact). However, there is also a secret third category—hidden quests!
Out of all the locations in the game, Kaer Mohren, the witchers’ legendary keep, is both the most interesting and the least visited. Storywise, Geralt doesn’t have much of a reason to stay in Kaer Mohren for long, which is probably why the developers thought it’d be fun to add some secrets to the map for those who’d decide to stay anyway.
One of these easter eggs is an unmarked secondary quest that you obtain by reading a book. When exploring the tower east of Kaer Mohren’s kitchen, you can find a tome called “Monstrum, or A Portrayal of Witchers: Volume 2.” Reading the book triggers a hidden quest, “The Witchers’ Forge,” which requires the player to follow the directions in the book to the iron mines near the keep.
Inside the player can find some components, but more interestingly, the grave of Leo (aka one of the witchers that dies in the beginning of the first game), and Geralt will even comment on his death.
It’s a small but fun reward for players who pay attention to detail!
