10 SEGA Mega Drive Games That Deserve a 21st Century Overhaul

3. Quackshot (Genre: 3D Platform-Shooter)

2013 saw the remastering of the Disney game classic, Castle of Illusion – originally released in 1990. Mickey's quest to save Minnie from the evil witch Mizrabel (ah, I see what you did there, Disney!) was a huge success and inspired the multiplayer sequel, World of Illusion, where player 2 took on the role of Donald Duck.

However, Donald featured in another Megadrive game in 1991 which would lend itself well not only to remastering, but a full remake. Quackshot sees Donald Duck and his nephews on a quest for lost treasure across the world, while racing against Big Bad Pete and his minions.

It was very much the Uncharted of the 1990s – maybe with a few differences here or there. If Uncharted 4 was missing one thing, it was a bubble gum gun.

Kids and young families will always enjoy fun, family friendly games with a cartoon style full of our favourite, classic characters, and Quackshot was one of the finest examples of this. The story was fun, the gameplay was innocent but still exciting, and the numerous exotic environments would lend themselves well for a modern 3D platform remake.
