9. The Mystery Of Gisli, Erikur & Helgi
In the realm of references, head to Solitude and you’ll come across a brother and sister called Gisli and Erikur.
It’s suspected that the siblings are named after two of the three brothers from an old Icelandic tale called Gisli, Erikur, and Helgi. Gisli remarks that she’s annoyed at being referred to only as ‘Erikur’s sister’, as he’s Thane of the city. But wait, I hear you say, that’s pretty interesting I guess but where on earth is Helgi?
Ah, the plot thickens. Helgi isn’t in Solitude but there is a Helgi to be found in Morthal--you encounter her in the quest Laid To Rest, and she is a ghost that died in a house fire.
Whether she’s related to the other two or not is up to your head cannon, but it’s certainly interesting to suppose she may have been the third sibling.
