3. Battling Yunalesca In Final Fantasy X

Every gamer worth their salt has compiled an Im never playing that again list. Even upon the announcement that the glorious FFX was to be receiving the HD-remake treatment, it was with a shudder that all the memories of battling this horrifically unforgiving boss came flooding back. Whilst you can of course argue that with most RPGs you're afforded the time to grind out levels for whats to come should you suddenly hit a roadblock. However with Yunalesca the save point was just before the encounter, dooming me and thousands of others to an uphill purgatory of trying over and over to beat her to no avail. Another thing was that when you did finally overcome her hulking frame, she had a second form with even more powerful attacks, and then after that there was a third form, created it seems as a sadistic exploration into just how much you loved the game enough to carry on. Thankfully Final Fantasy X had the all-slaying nerf-summon Yojimbo, whose special power was an instant-kill should a random dice roll go your way. If it was not for that summon, I cant help but think Id still be a twitching sleep-deprived mess, huddled under the blankets clutching the controller tightly whilst continually plowing away at that third form until daybreak.
