The Internet is a wonderful place, a glorious fountain of information that can expand our minds and make us the best sort of people that we can be. It's also an awesome resource for posting videos of you demonstrating you've spent far too long playing a certain video game, as evidenced by the popularity of speed runs and challenge videos on sites such as YouTube. Most of us simply don't have the time in a day to reach the upper echelons of awesome nerddom by giving our favourite game a good and proper rinsing like these guys have; one can only imagine the time and effort invested in perfecting the downright inconceivable feats these players pulled off. They're a reminder of just what's possible with enough perseverance, though they also make us feel better about our gaming habits (and slightly jealous that we're nowhere near as good). Here are 10 superhuman gaming feats that put us all to shame...
10. Chamber 18 In 39 Seconds - Portal
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lasDxr7RsO4 Context is an important thing, and to give this clip context, just take a look at
a regular Joe taking on the fiendishly difficult 18th test chamber in Valve's masterful puzzle game Portal. Sight unseen, it takes over 10 minutes, and to even a skilled player, it's going to take a good 2 or 3 minutes to beast through, but this Gaming God managed to do it in a whopping 39 seconds. It seems the clip has no sound because our brains simply wouldn't be able to cope with the all-out assault that this player unleashes on the game, firing portals with expert precision and timing to ensure the fastest completion possible. The most genius moment unquestionably comes when the player uses a camera to obstruct a door, allowing him to create a portal on the floor behind the door and save himself a ton of time. I imagine even Valve hadn't thought of that one.
