10 Terrible Levels In Awesome Recent Video Games
1. Fairplay - Mafia: Definitive Edition
If you played the original version of Mafia back in the day, you'll likely remember the infamous mission "Fair Play," which required players to place first in a furniture-destroyingly difficult race.
For many the level was difficult enough for them to swear the rest of the game off entirely, such that when the recent Definitive Edition was announced, the first question was - "Has Fairplay been fixed yet?"
While those playing on Normal difficulty will now be able to breeze through it, the more challenging Classic difficulty - a popular setting for fans of the original - is full of, frankly, bulls**t tactics intended to make players fail again and again.
Between the terrible handling of the period racecars and the abundance of rubber-banded A.I., it's an absolutely hellish level to complete on Classic difficulty.
Sure, you can change the difficulty temporarily to get through the level, but the whole point of the Definitive Edition is to improve the experience, not simply rehash the same impossible nonsense from almost 20 years ago.
