4. Pyramid Cave - Sonic Adventure 2

Both the Sonic Adventure games were vital points in the history of SEGA's flagship franchise, finally proving that the team could crack the 3D genre of gaming and making a series of titles that were popular with the fans.

Adventure 2 was one of the first Sonic games to be released across multiple different platforms and consoles, leading to widespread accessibility and the ability to push the game's mechanics to new levels.

Adventure 2 brought with it more action and a much quicker pace to proceedings, with stages such as City Escape and Radical Highway going onto establish legendary legacies within the Sonic the Hedgehog community.

Pyramid Cave, however, is a level that just fails to make use of any of these new developments. A real filler of a level, Pyramid Cave sees Sonic running through an ancient Egyptian-themed temple in an attempt to locate Dr. Eggman's secret base.

There are plenty of long enclosed tunnels, a couple of loop-de-loops and a real noticeable lack of enemies that just make the level feel ridiculously easy for where it is in the game.
