10 Things Video Games Do (That We Never Want To See Again)

2. Single-Player Games That Don’t Pause

One of the bad things about playing multiplayer games is that you’re on everybody else’s time and the servers time, and a modicum of coordination and attention is pretty much always required.

That’s what’s great about playing single-player games. You can just play when you want, and pause when you want. Except when you can’t because even though you’re the only real person there for some reason you can never pause.

For some reason games like Valheim, Dark Souls, and Diablo 2 Resurrected don’t pause when you’re in the menu screen which can in some cases have to do with the fact that you’re on a server, but it is an annoyance. In each of those games you can just go to a safe area, or an area you hope is safe, and run off to do whatever you need to do hoping a baddie doesn’t spawn and start stabbing at you.

The beauty of single player games should be the ability to pause to answer the phone without fear of dying really slowly to a single skeleton hacking at your idle hero.
