10 Times Drinking Went Horribly Wrong In Video Games
3. Skyrim - A Night To Remember
It is sometimes forgotten what a cultural phenomenon The Hangover films were at the turn of the 2010s, launching Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and future Joker director Todd Phillips into the mainstream consciousness. It is no real surprise to see a reference to the series in one of the finest games of the same era.
In a side-mission in the fifth entry in the Elder Scrolls series, your hero is challenged to a drinking contest by an unassuming customer in any number of nondescript taverns. You quickly black out and awake at the end of your trail of destruction, having to clear up and placate residents across the region. It will emerge your night involved vandalising a temple, stealing a goat, and an ill-advised proposal to a hagraven.
Once complete, it is revealed the whole affair had started with an encounter with the Daedric prince Sanguine, who revels in all things debauched and hedonistic. In fairness, the side mission is not without material reward, with the Dragonborn receiving the Sanguine Rose, a powerful magic staff in exchange for entertaining the prince.
