10 Times Players Broke MMORPGs
6. Kazzak’s Rampage - World Of Warcraft
There’s a reason boss fights take place in their own specific dungeons, but a group of World of Warcraft players thought that Kazzak of the Blasted Lands might want to stretch his legs. After all, in classic WoW it was possible to kite any enemy and have them follow you wherever you went. Maybe Kazzak wants to go see the big city?
Drawing Kazzak’s ire, players trekked through several major WoW regions with the boss in tow before they made it to Stormwind. There, things took a turn for the worse. If they were looking to create mayhem, they were about to go down in history.
Kazzak’s ability to regenerate 70,000HP per kill and its shadowbolts that could pass through walls made it an unkillable death machine. NPCs and low level characters were obliterated by the monster in an instant, and higher level characters that tried to stop Kazzak couldn’t make up the damage for all the HP it was restoring.
Kazzak stomping around Stormwind was like a disaster movie and as much as players tried, they couldn't put the monster down.
Eventually, Blizzard stepped in to put a stop to the incident. They despawned and respawned Kazzak back at the Blasted Lands and then permanently tied him there so that history couldn’t repeat itself.
