10 Times Video Game Franchises Were Rebooted Into The Worst Thing Ever

I wouldn't blame you if you hadn't even realised that there had been a new Alone in the Dark game since the disastrous reboot in 2008, because Atari's 2015 entry in the series came and went without virtually any fanfare.

A third-person co-op action game, the title was a sorry excuse to cash-in on the name value of the franchise by putting in as little effort as possible. Releasing to no buzz and with no story to speak of, the shooter had you completing a series of repetitive objectives over and over again, with no incentive for players to keep on doing them.

It looked terrible too, featuring an ugly and bland visual presentation that didn't even remotely come close to being scary. It was a tragic way to bring back a series that had been on ice for seven years, and most fans wished they'd have just left well enough alone.
