2. Mega Evolution - Pokémon Sun And Moon

Deus Ex Human Revolution Thumb

On the surface, mega evolution in Pokémon is just about the coolest new feature available. You take your already badass final stage critter, and you gain the ability to temporarily make it into an even more powerful pal for the remainder of your fight.

However, if you happen to be big on reading your Pokédex entries, you might shy away from using this ability. Why? Well, because all the entries on mega evolved Pokémon are incredibly, incredibly messed up - even by the usual standards.

And this is true for almost every one of these evolutions. Mega Gengar becomes a reality-hopping freak who will 'try and curse the Trainer who is its master', presumably because it blames you for all of this. Mega Kangaskhan has the baby in her pouch grow up, which is cute right up until you read that the child is 'only good at fighting' and that the mother is worried sick she's raised some Poké-axe murderer.

Worse yet, half the entries explain that the increased power your fighting friends now possess is actually hurting them, because their bodies can't handle the transformation.

So good luck using mega evolution the next time you want to do extra damage. You monster.
