6. DIO Isn't Playable During The Day - Jump Force

Upon its announcement, 2019 crossover fighter Jump Force was heavily anticipated by anime lovers and genre aficionados alike.

After all, it looked really good and promised players the opportunity to pit beloved characters such as Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto), Vegeta (Dragon Ball), Izuku Midoriya (My Hero Academia), and Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece) against each other in a variety of eye-catching locales.

Of course, another enticing character was DIO, the central foe of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Prior to release, it seemed like most fans couldn’t wait to take hold of the crafty vampire and see how he measured up against the rest of the roster.

Lo and behold, Jump Force’s designers took DIO’s condition a little too literally, as he is only available to play on nighttime stages.

Granted, that restriction makes sense (and even adds a touch of mythological authenticity to the experience). Plus, precursor Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle did something similar with the character a few years prior.

Nevertheless, the creators had to know how annoyed – if also amused – gamers would be once they realized what was happening. They did it anyway, though, thereby instigating the wrath of multiple pop culture communities.
