7. The Bane Gun - Borderlands 2

As with every other entry in the mainline series, Borderlands 2 is packed with an absurd amount of guns. In fact, it broke the Guinness World Record of over 17.5 million set by its predecessor!

Naturally, that means that their quality and functions vary widely between being absolute powerhouses (the Unkempt Harold and Slagga), quirky freaks of nature (the Fibber and Bunny), and virtually useless wastes of time (the Wanderlust and Landscaper).

That said, it’s the Bane gun that trolls the hardest. Obtained after completing – you guessed it – The Bane side mission, this submachine gun does a good amount of damage. However, there are two main factors that make it downright infuriating to use.

For one thing, it forces you to walk incredibly slow. We’re talking mere inches per second, so only the most patient (and/or easily amused) Vault Hunters will be able to stand it for more than a few moments. What’s more, it unleashes a tirade of ear-piercingly irksome squeals and screams with every bullet fired.

Admittedly, that ridiculous combination is comically fitting for the franchise; however, the joke wears thin almost immediately and – true to its intentions – becomes the bane of your existence.
