10 Titles To Play If You Love Telltale Games

3. Grim Fandango: Remastered

Back in 2015, Grim Fandango had risen from the grave, reminding people of what a timeless adventure game looks like.

In a world that resembles Tim Burton’s book of doodles, Grim Fandango has skeletal travel agent Manny Calavera journeying across the underworld in an endeavour to uncover a conspiracy which has plagued the land of the dead.

The many jokes still hold up and, although some details and lightings were improved on, the simple design of the characters and pre-rendered backgrounds have been mostly untouched, leaving a nostalgic world which still looks good today.

It has a bizarre mix of Mexican folklore and film noir, as well as outstanding jazz music. With some subtle visual tweaks, modern point-and-click controls and an insightful developer commentary, it’s the remastered version of Grim Fandango that you absolutely must play.

After its original release in 1998, there was the valid excuse of it being hard to find. But, after being remastered and released for the PlayStation 4 and PC, that excuse is no longer acceptable. The game is easy to download and it is a lot cheaper than most bad games. Go get it. Now!
