1. Geralt Of Rivia & Triss Merigold (The Witcher Series)

We should take walks more often... - Triss
At number one, we have Geralt and Triss from the Witcher series. Playing as Geralt, it's hard not to seduce the many women who come across your path throughout both Witcher games. If there was anyone to stick to though, it was Triss. Geralt and Triss are essentially caught in the same place. Powerful characters forced to meddle in politics when they would prefer not to. Both touch shoulders with royalty and nobles, yet would easily fit in at a rundown inn. Their similarities nurture their relationship, and their personalities enhance it. Like most RPGs, Geralt's actions are based a lot on the player. Thus characterizing him is hard, but not impossible. Many a time we hear Geralt say he seeks only peace and to regain his memories. He has forgotten many faces, even Triss', but his feelings for her grow stronger over time. Triss, having known Geralt for a long time, is weary herself of becoming attached to a man changed due to amnesia. She has deep feelings for Geralt. Feelings she knows might never be reciprocated. They nevertheless develop their bond. Through want or force, they come to accept each other. And through this we see the trust they have for each other. They know each others strengths, and never doubt their abilities. Should trouble come though they always help each other. They endure hardships for each other. They make sacrifices for each other. Their relationship is a joy to watch unfold; their banter with each other being chief to this. The best way to represent their romance is simple. During the moments when Triss is forced away from Geralt, it is always a much lonelier experience to explore the world. Even when other women enter Geralt's life, none leave the lasting impression Triss does. Reuniting with her always seems to fill a void.
