Jumpscares are usually cheap one-time scary moments that stop being creepy the moment you realize what they are.

However, the secret Easter egg jumpscare in Mortal Kombat 11 is so unexpected yet well-executed that even after you become aware of its existence, you’re going to fear accidentally triggering it again.

Fans of the series might be familiar with a recurring character simply named Krypt monster. This creepy Nosferatu-looking creature makes frequent appearances as a jumpscare, suddenly appearing in Mortal Kombat 9 and Mortal Kombat 10.

In both games, once you experience monster’s scare, it won’t have the same effect afterward. However, his unexpected reappearance in Mortal Kombat 11 is a different story…

In the game’s story mode, when you put Kenshi’s blindfold on, there is a small chance that Krypt monster will spawn in and then immediately lunge at you screaming!

The first time the monster attacks out of nowhere is enough to make a grownup fill their pants.

However, since the Easter egg has a chance to happen again, it also leads to a lingering sense of dread, as now you can never know when putting the blindfold on again will have you run from invisible monsters…
