10 Truly Disturbing Gaming Easter Eggs To Keep You Awake at Night
8. A Nasty Dentist's Visit - Call of Duty World At War
Call of Duty: World at War, like its Black Ops sequels, features a zombie mode, where you go up against hordes of the undead.
And yet, the scariest part of the game isn’t the zombies. It’s actually a random chair.
On the Verruckt map, there is a lone room with a really creepy and bloodied dentist chair. Although the seat looks like a background prop and no icon shows up when you hover over it, it can be secretly interacted with.
However, you don’t really want to do that, because this triggers a rather disturbing easter egg.
Upon clicking the interact button, the chair will suddenly make a harrowing sound. First you will hear a screeching dentist drill, and then a male voice will begin screaming in fear, as though he were being tortured.
The sound effect is loud and visceral, and considering it is being activated in such an unexpected manner, it can easily spook anyone when they trigger it for the first time.
Afterward, you probably will not want to randomly interact with objects ever again.
Even though you should because similar hidden interactions allow you to flush toilets or play music in the shower.
Ah, the duality of CoD Easter eggs.
