10 TV Shows With Weird Video Game Episodes
8. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia - Charlie Rules The World
Charlie Rules The World takes the same obsessive role play game storyline from The Big Bang Theory and, in true Sunny style, swings for the fences with it.
Charlie has always had a niche intelligence, despite his illiteracy and just obviously being a moron. We see that on full display here as he masterminds his clans’ dominance over the others, taking Dee as his trophy wife. Dennis stays out of things, but Mac and Frank get dragged in when they see the humiliating avatars Dee’s created for them.
Dee might have been the first one to get in on the trend, but it’s not until Charlie joins her that they have any success. As usual, the pair are fantastic together but (also as usual), it’s not too long before the mistrust sets in.
Charlie arranges a date with another woman in the game, but in a flash of meanness not shown since his cruel intentions with Alexandria Daddario’s Ruby, it’s all a set up so he can attack her clan. Dee, though, suspects Charlie is plotting against her, so sabotages his own clan from the inside.
As usual, the gang bring misery upon themselves and the whole venture is written off as a failure.
