Another hugely exciting project revealed by the aforementioned FTC document leak is that Bethesda is indeed working on a third entry into the Dishonored franchise.

It's an especially surprising revelation given that Dishonored 2 and its standalone expansion Death of the Outsider both sold poorly enough for the publisher to formally put the franchise on hiatus back in 2018.

With that, fans likely assumed that Dishonored was put on ice indefinitely, and so to see a new sequel named among Bethesda's upcoming projects was a most pleasant surprise indeed.

The leaked document cited an intended release window of financial year 2024 - which ends in April 2025 - though given how much things have shifted around since the pandemic, it's reasonable to assume that its release has likely moved back a year or two at least.

All the same, the mere knowledge that Dishonored as an IP hasn't just been abandoned and a new sequel is on the way is enough to keep fans happy for now.
