3. You Have An Explosive, Uncontrollable Temper

To be fair, some of you might know this already, and if not, you're going to find out if you ever play Ninja Gaiden, Dark Souls, or any game that's even remotely challenging. The game that first caused me to realise I had a homicidal temper was 18 Wheeler: Pro Trucker on the Dreamcast; after spending hours trying to beat one stage, I punched a wall, fracturing my hand, which in turn only made me angrier as I screamed out in rage. They're the most unflattering moments we have as players, though perhaps the one that is most in touch with who we really are. We all get annoyed with things, but an unfair moment in a game causing your death, a 12-year-old shooting you in CoD, or dying just before reaching a checkpoint can all evoke fiery, psychopathic anger in even the most placid and level-headed of us. Movies don't do this, books don't do this; it is the immersive nature of games which is their main source of pleasure and despair. If only we could see ourselves.
