5. Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
Sequel to a Starfighter, a game the took place during the events of Episode 1, but from a distance, Jedi Starfighter takes this same formula perfecting it to the best of its abilities.
Once again from the perspective of Nym and now series newcomer Adi Gallia in a variety of missions scenarios battling in space, on the surface of worlds and cooperative with a buddy if players wish.
The big push this time around was a focus on force powers whilst piloting the slick new Jedi Starfighter featured in Attack of the Clones and with these slight innovations made for engaging Star Wars dogfighting combat. Sometimes that's all you need is for a game to just do one thing as we no live in a very much open world multiplayer centric industry.
Much like many Star Wars title here, this is a B game elevated by the brand and not too dissimilar with that of Nintendo and the Mario franchise. Trying new things, but with the safety blanket of Star Wars ensuring sales won’t bomb too hard. The industry is sorely lacking in good B-tier games right now, and publishers like EA should take advantage of this license to go down new avenues and not make every game an all or nothing sales situation.
