10 Underwhelming Video Games With MUST-PLAY DLC
3. The Vanishing - Far Cry 6
In Far Cry 6, you must liberate a tropical island (again) from a suave despot (again). Based on that premise alone, it's obvious this instalment isn't trying very hard to distinguish itself from its predecessors. Despite its political undercurrents, Far Cry 6 never pushes the story or the character development as much as it could, making it come across as a generic shooter.
So, when Ubisoft announced an expansion, fans were wary about paying extra cash for more mediocre content. But Ubisoft had had a secret weapon this time around.
Stranger Things.
If you're a fan of The Duffer Brothers show (and who isn't?), how could you not check out Far Cry 6's DLC, The Vanishing, knowing it took place in The Upside-Down?
Now, because the expansion brings back the villains from previous entries, you might mistake The Vanishing as nothing more than a nostalgic gimmick. (That sounds familiar.) But against all odds, The Vanishing is a gripping experience, mainly because it replicates Stranger Things' dark tone and nerve-tingling atmosphere. It may only last five hours or so, but the compelling story is bound to keep you invested from beginning to end.
