10 Underwhelming Video Games With MUST-PLAY DLC

2. Minerva's Den - BioShock 2

Regardless of what you may have heard, BioShock 2 isn't a bad game. In fact, it received nothing but positive reviews.

However, there's no question it failed to meet the standards of it the original. Because BioShock is hailed as a masterpiece, a pretty decent follow-up just wasn't good enough.

Fortunately, the Minerva's Den expansion gave players everything they were looking for. Rather than just relying on solid gameplay, it focuses more on the first game's themes. Everywhere you go, you're reminded of the folly of man and humanity's self-destructive reliance on technology. As you navigate around Rapture, you won't just be impressed, but deeply moved.

Because of the nonlinear structure, the player has more time to explore at their own pace. On top of that, it has a new combat system, which many find to be superior to the original's.

Minerva's Den may be an expansion, but considering it keeps you occupied almost as long as the actual game, some players see it as BioShock 2.5, rather than a bonus campaign.

Because Minerva's Den redeemed BioShock 2 and finished on a high note, it's easy to see why it's hailed as one of the greatest DLCs ever.
