Next to Slender, Five Nights At Freddy’s is another game which has gained more and more momentum as a direct result of playthroughs and let’s plays from famous YouTubers.

With the success and sales that came because of said attention, Five Nights took the opportunity of spawning sequel after sequel after spin-off, even gaining a collective port to VR. This port could very easily be interchangeable with the regular version of the game for its position in this list.

Five Nights At Freddy’s is simple, you play as a security guard in a restaurant-type business with animatronics which come to life at night. Their goal is to patrol the hallways in hopes of finding and protecting anyone they find, turning them into an animatronic.

Sounds creepy, and it conveys this tone through minimalist methods, such as a phone call with your boss before every night. Then, all you have to do is watch the cameras, operate two doors (to your left and right) and turn lights on and off to detect any movement. It’s that simple.

Obviously, with each new instalment came new mechanics and characters, and with Sister Location, quite an interesting story.
