10 Unwritten Rules Of Gaming Everyone Knows

5. If A Character Says They’ve Got A Bad Feeling About Anything, Save

An addendum to our last entry that is used to great effect in Knights of the Old Republic, if any of your companions or NPC offsiders say they’ve got a bad feeling about this or that you’re up for a big battle, believe them and pull off a quicksave at least.

Star Wars popularised “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” and when the stakes are high in a video game it’s handy to have somebody to tip you off that things are about to go sideways.

The final footnote to this one is that you should simply always be saving. Save early, save often. Don’t overwrite saves. Big boss battle? Save. About to walk into a cave? Save. Sitting at an unfamiliar table in a tavern? Save. Been more than 4 seconds since your last quicksave? Save.

Or am I the only crazy person who plays this way? Let me know in the comments.
