2. Leading Your First Siege - Middle Earth: Shadow of War

The first Shadow of Mordor offered players a highly entertaining and endlessly replayable campaign back in 2014 thanks to satisfying combat and the revolutionary Nemesis system. For Shadow of War, Monolith has doubled down and added strongholds, more personality-filled Uruks and strategic sieges. While all of the additions look promising (save for the microtransactions), it's the sieges that look like they'll be the best new concept.

While the previous game definitely incorporated some strategy, that powerful feeling of leading your own personal army never felt present until the campaign's final battle. However, with SOW's new-and-improved siege system, each Uruk's quirks and qualities could be utilized properly, allowing for some extra advantages that would otherwise be absent in battle. On top of that, you will be pushing the army forward and deciding on your preferred means of combat.

It looks surprisingly deep and rich with options, as well as highly cinematic. It will be an absolute blast seeing how each siege differs and how each player handles both the various difficulties along the way. There's no doubt that as soon as Talion yells "Charge!" on that first siege, we'll all be feeling goosebumps heading into battle.
