3. Taking Back The Traveler - Destiny 2

Destiny was one of gaming's most divisive projects in recent years, so Bungie and Activision have plenty to make up for in many gamers' minds. Judging by the footage shown so far, they seem prepared to oblige those preturbed fans. The story centers on the Guardians as they've lost the Traveler to a hostile group called the Red Legion and must re-group to take it back, or else being stuck in the darkness.

Comeback stories are always enjoyable because they make your character(s) the underdog, allowing the inevitable triumph over the supposedly stronger opponent all the more satisfying. There's also an extra incentive to take them down because they beat your Guardian down (as well as Ghost) in the opening mission. The fact that he boots you off the pedestal and throws Ghost down with you only adds to the motivation to get some revenge.

It'll be an interesting change of pace to see how the Guardians make do without the Traveler, but reclaiming it (at the end of a Bungie-worthy story mode) will hopefully provide a satisfying bookend to a thoroughly engaging adventure.
