10 Upcoming 2019 Video Games You Could Totally Miss
Yeah Death Stranding and Doom are coming soon, but you can't sleep on these releases.
There might only be three months left of the year, but with the Christmas rush being a popular time for video game releases, there’s still a lot of games to come. Recently, the ten most anticipated upcoming titles were in the spotlight, but there’s quite a few you may have missed as well.
The only qualifier here (aside from them releasing this year, obviously) is that any title not on that list previous list is fair game. There’s a few here that more dedicated fans will likely be aware of, but if its profile is so low it’s missing out on the previous top ten, there’s a decent chance it’s going to pass some people by.
Likewise, six shooter-heavy games featured in the most anticipated list (seven if you include FIFA - though that's shooting of an entirely different kind), and the major titles people know about are somewhat lacking in variety. Here though there’s more range as we dip below the triple A surface into more ambitious and creative waters.
These games likely won’t grab the headlines amidst other major releases still to come in 2019, but there’s still a lot to be excited about.
10. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will receive a major launch and a big marketing push, so you might think its chances of flying completely under the radar are pretty slim.
However, considering it just missed the cut on the top ten most anticipated, there’s a good chance that while a lot of people may be aware of it, the game could yet pass them by.
It faces considerable competition after all. While a lot of the games here are in less popular genres or come without triple A expectation, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is in a tight spot.
This time of year is jammed packed with shooters - and The Outer Worlds and Call of Duty both release in the same month - so there’s a danger of it not standing out from the crowd enough.
As a tactical shooter, it does offer something considerably different, but the slower, more realistic nature of the game means it’s a bit of a harder sell than its high-octane rivals.
Whether it can attract people en mass amongst the likes of Call Of Duty, Borderlands and Doom: Eternal remains to be seen though.
