10 Upcoming 2020 Video Games We're Incredibly Worried About
5. Predator: Hunting Grounds
The Predator franchise has certainly been long overdue a quality video game, and translating the hunter vs. hunted concept into an asymmetric 4v1 multiplayer game honestly sounds like a perfect fit. On paper, at least.
But the enthusiasm for that initial announcement quickly cooled once some incredibly rough pre-alpha footage arrived during this year's Gamescom, suggesting that developers Illfonic, who previously delivered the janky-but-fun Friday the 13th: The Game, were struggling to deliver a quality title worthy of the brand.
What we've seen so far is proving reminiscent of the failed 2015 asymmetric FPS Evolve, and without the kitschy tone that made fans forgive some of Friday the 13th's iffier gameplay elements, this could very well be an underwhelming, unbalanced mess which fails to make a dent.
More recent gameplay previews have skewed more positive, but even so, low expectations are probably the way to go here.
