10 Upcoming 2020 Video Games We're Incredibly Worried About
3. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
The long-awaited sequel to 2004's Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines was originally due to drop in Q1 of next year, but earlier this month, developer Hardsuit Labs confirmed that the action-RPG was being delayed until "later in 2020," which could imply a delay of up to almost a year.
Naturally, that's incredibly hefty as delays go, and suggests a game that perhaps isn't taking shape as expected.
Though the developer's candid delay message did express a desire to avoid the pitfalls of the first Bloodlines, which they admit released too early, the dull, stilted pre-alpha footage from Gamescom paints a picture of a game in need of a total overhaul rather than a mere delay.
Hardsuit will need to work incredibly hard to remedy the game's seeming lack of atmosphere, because a simple nip-and-tuck job clearly won't suffice. We all want this game to be good, but it just feels so empty and lifeless.
