4. Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings Of Ruin
Spin-off games can be very hit and miss, as sometimes fans love the opportunity to explore the world of a franchise in a different light, but at other times it can stray so far that it alienates players. While the Monster Hunter series seems like something that would be set in its ways, the spin-off Stories title (released in 2016) was an absolute delight. So, there's no reason not to get excited about this upcoming sequel.
Unlike the mainline series, this game allows you to control a Rider who befriends and forms teams with friendly monsters. With these newfound partnerships, you battle in a turn-based RPG adventure that sees you participate in an epic story.
In this sequel, you play as the grandson of legendary rider Red and encounter a Wyverian girl - named Ena - who has been entrusted with the egg of a legendary Rathalos, which could bring chaos and destruction if it hatches.
This title is primed to be a joyful yet intense dive into a wondrous fantasy world and a loving continuation of the Monster Hunter Stories series. It hatches onto the Switch on the 9 July 2021.
