10 Upcoming Video Game Sequels Nobody Asked For

7. Need For Speed 2017

It's fair to say that last year's reboot of the Need for Speed was a hugely mixed bag: the live-action sequences were cornball nonsense, it was always-online, the rubber-banding was hilariously blatant, and there was a total lack of daytime racing. On the other hand, it looked bloody gorgeous, so there's that.

Still, Ghost Games are hard at work on the follow-up (which will probably recycle one of the previous titles, like Most Wanted or Hot Pursuit or something), but honestly, isn't everyone just a bit tired of this series? Can't we get Burnout back instead?

Could It Be Any Good?: Of course it absolutely could (considering that Ghost also developed 2013's highly enjoyable Need for Speed: Rivals), but so many were burned by the previous game's mistakes that they simply may not particularly care about forking over cash for this one, at least until the reviews come out.

A radical re-think will be in order either way.
