10 Upcoming Video Games That Are Getting Delayed

9. Dying Light: The Beast

Grand Theft Auto VI
Techland

The third entry into the hit survival horror franchise Dying Light is a standalone spin-off that was originally intended to be a DLC pack for Dying Light 2: Stay Human, before being upgraded to a full-fat release.

Dying Light: The Beast was officially announced at Gamescom last August, with the current plan for the game to release in the "Q2/Q3 2025" window.

But if we look at the track record of developer Techland, they've got a consistent history of delaying their games, especially those in the Dying Light franchise.

The original Dying Light was delayed from 2014 to January 2015, while Dying Light 2: Stay Human was pushed a full two years from its "early 2020" release window to February 2022.

And so, why expect anything different here? Even accepting that this new game is said to be a smaller-scale adventure which should require less developmental resources, it would be the least surprising news imaginable if The Beast ended up delayed to either later in 2025 or even 2026.

If nothing else, it would certainly be consistent on Techland's part.
