10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In March 2017

6. Nier: Automata

What is it: The Drakengard series has always been a niche interest outside of Japan. While the stories have been regarded as some of the most memorable, emotional writing in gaming, the mixed-genre gameplay in previous entries Drakengard 3 and spin-off Nier have had issues matching the quality of the writing. This hasn't stopped fans from falling in love with the series.

NieR: Automata is a collaboration between Square Enix and Platinum, taking both the series RPG elements and writings of director Yoko Taro, and blending it with the high-speed, precision based combat PlatinumGames is known for. It's a match that's almost too good to be true.

The protagonist is the combat android 2B, fighting against otherworldly mechanical lifeforms who forced the human race off of their home planet. As players explore the deserted and war-torn landscape, they'll explore and fight through re-activated factories and ruins of civilization, as androids slowly come to terms with fighting a proxy war for humankind.

When's it coming out: 7th March for North American regions on PS4. PAL regions will get the game on the 10th. A Windows PC port has been announced, but a release date has not been set.
