10 Upcoming Video Games To Look Out For In May 2017

2. Friday The 13th: The Game

What is it: One of the most successful Kickstarter projects ever, Illfonic's Friday the 13th: The Game netted almost $2.1 million in crowdfunding. It's a massive project with plenty of love for the series etched inside of it. (Just listen to the cheesy 80's rock in the trailer above - It's absolutely perfect.)

Friday the 13th is an eight player, asymmetrical survival horror game. One player plays Jason Vorhees himself, picking from a variety of abilities and stats based on the many iterations from the film's lineage. The other seven pick from the many camp counselors at Camp Crystal Lake, attempting to hide or fight as they find an escape from Camp Crystal Lake.

Vanquishing Jason is nigh impossible, but with the right amount of patience, smart planning, and even calling in for help from renowned Jason-killer Tommy Jarvis, players can actually attempt to murder the murderer themselves.

Friday the 13th is a horror fan's dream project; many of the original actors and film designers, such as Tom Savini, Kane Hodder, and Thom Matthews, have all lent their ideas and acting chops to make this the most accurate film depiction possible.

When's it coming out: Friday the 13th: The Game arrives 26 May for Steam, PS4, and Xbox One.
